Ohio State University and Partner Institutions receive $3.5 Million Grant to Increase Underrepresented Graduates in STEM fields (OSU News): The Ohio State University will use grant funding from the National Science Foundation to establish an alliance to assist underrepresented students toward degree completion. The grant was awarded through the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program.

IBM supercomputer to accelerate Southampton University research (The Inquirer): University of Southampton, located in the UK, will use IBM’s Intelligent Cluster Technology to increase and improve power in academic research.

Government shutdown affects SU research programs (Daily Orange – Syracuse U. News): Researchers at Syracuse University feel pressure of the government shutdown as they continue their work without federal funding for their research projects.
