SK Food Group Invests $13 Million In Columbus, Ohio, Area Manufacturing Center (Area Development) – SK Food Group out of Seattle has announced the building of a $13million food production facility in the Columbus area that will create 250 jobs over the next 3 years

 

Got Debt? Ohio College Students Are Banking On It (NPR) – Frunding for need based aid for college students has decreased substantially since its peak in 2008 leading to higher amounts of debt for college graduates. Ohio ranks in the top ten for most college graduate debt.

 

Ohio energy efficiency and renewable energy laws headed for a vote (Cleveland.com) – Senate Bill 58, a bill covering Ohio’s energy efficiency and renewable energy laws, will be voted on tomorrow. This bill has been controversial due to the impact it may have on utilities and manufacturers across the state.

 

October unemployment numbers higher for Ohio (newsdemocrat.com) – The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has reported an increase in unemployment for October as compared to Sept. Interestingly manufacturing related jobs actually increased in this period but were offset by other loses.

 

New effort aims to help pupils apply for college (The Columbus Dispatch) – Five Ohio high schools took part in a pilot program event that provided extra time and help to students that had not yet done their college or financial aid applications.
