Apple Expands iTunes U Education App for iPads (The New York Times) – An update to Apple’s iTunes U app, to come July 8, allows instructors to create, edit, and assign course work using the iPad.

 

Google Sponsors CMU Research to Improve MOOCs (Pittsburg Business Times) – Carnegie Mellon University announced that researchers from the university will receive funding form Google to looking into data driven approaches that can improve the educational potential of MOOCs.

                          

Most Expensive Colleges (Inside Higher Ed) – The US Department of Education on Monday released its rankings of the most and least expensive colleges in the country.

 

Research Reveals a Gender Gap in the Nation’s Biology Labs (Phys.org) – About half of all biology graduate students are women, and 40 percent of biology postdocs are female. However, those numbers drop dramatically among faculty members: nationwide, only 36 percent of assistant professors and 18 percent of full professors are women.
