Columbus Community College, Public Library Partner (Library Journal) – A set of 10 Columbus libraries will soon be featuring a room dedicated to Columbus State that will provide resources such as GED test prep and computers that are linked the Columbus State network thanks to a new partnership.

Common-Core Math Textbooks to Get Online Ratings (Education Week) – A new nonprofit organization plans to review major textbooks and curricula to gauge their alignment with the Common Core and provide these reviews for free to educators.  

High schools adjust schedules (Dayton Daily News) – This school year Ohio students must now meet a minimum number of hours rather than number of days, which has caused a number of schools to have to alter their schedules, especially at the high school level.

The Real Value of Online Education (The Atlantic) – Despite the low completion rate involved in MOOCs, the overall participation rate at any level remains fairly high at 60% which suggests that MOOCs are impacting more people than initially thought.

In Early Education, 'Half-Day' Is Wholly Harmful (Forbes) – One of the issues with debating the amount of time students should be spending in class stems from the fact that we report school time in different ways than we report work time, making it hard to draw comparisons in a debate.
