Eighteen Ohio middle school girls are spending a week of their summer break investigating complex science problems while discovering career opportunities in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Sixteen Ohio high school students are spending two weeks of their summer break investigating complex science and engineering problems, while discovering career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Columbus, Ohio (May 16, 2016) — eStudent Services, a division of the Ohio Technology Consortium (OH-TECH) that provides innovative online support services for all students, has moved its operations into the OH-TECH building at 1224 Kinnear Road as of January 2016. eStudent Services joins the Ohio Supercomputer Center, OARnet and OhioLINK at the building, rounding out the consortium members of OH-TECH, a division of the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The organization was previously housed at ODHE.

The Ohio Supercomputer Center has been selected as an  Intel® Parallel Computing Center. As part of the the Intel® PCC program, the OSC research team will work toward modernizing a computer software package that leverages large-scale, 3-D modeling to research fatigue and fracture analyses, primarily in metals.

Last week, the city of Columbus, Ohio, took home the title of the 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year, besting international competition from cities in Australia, Taiwan, Brazil, and Canada, as well as stateside competition from communities in Virginia and South Dakota.

WASHINGTON and COLUMBUS, OH, Nov. 25, 2014—Pankaj Shah, executive director of the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) and the Ohio Supercomputer Center, has been appointed to serve on the Internet2 Board of Trustees as a network representative. Shah is serving the term of retired Board Member Joe Freddoso, former CEO of MCNC.   

While many college students spend their summer studying abroad or taking courses, a handful from Ohio have been spending their summer break learning the ropes of a high-tech environment.

Ohio educators will have access to free online professional development, education focused social networking resources and a community of more than  55,000 educators across the country, thanks to a partnership between ilearnOhio and edWeb.net announced today.
