College students, parents facing higher loan costs (The Columbus Dispatch) – Last year federal student loans rates were linked to the 10 year Treasury bond rate. As the economy improves this rate has increased nearly 1 percentage point in the past year, which means students will be facing higher rates on their loans this coming school year.
