Education Department to Ease College Loan Rules (10TV) – The Department of Education said Thursday it will try to make it easier for students and parents with troubled credit histories to get college loans, easing restrictions on college students seeking loans from the government's direct loan program.

New Law Requires Public Colleges to Extend Tuition Breaks to Veterans (The Chronicle of Higher Education) – Signed into law on Thursday by President Obama, the Veterans' Access to Care Through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014 requires those institutions to charge in-state tuition to veterans, regardless of how long they have lived in the state, within three years of the veterans’ discharge from active duty.
