Thomas Kerwin

Former Research Scientist, DSL Operations Director

Kerwin served as a research scientist at the Interface Lab of the Ohio Supercomputer Center, where he developed and executed grants for visualization, medical simulation and other interactive graphics research projects. He was particularly interested in the computer visualization research topics of surgical simulation, volume visualization, educational games and novel human-computer interaction.

Kerwin also serves as director of operations at The Ohio State University Driving Simulation Lab, a collaborative project involving The Ohio State University, Honda R&D Americas and the Ohio Supercomputer Center. At the DSL, he oversees the development of new simulation scenarios and running of experiments, assists clients in experiment construction and execution and maintains the simulator environment.

Kerwin earned a doctorate in Computer Science from the Ohio State University in 2011.
