Caroline Whitacre, Ph.D.

Vice President for Research, The Ohio State University

Caroline Whitacre serves as the vice president for research at The Ohio State University. She is a professor of microbial infection and immunity and former chair of the Department of Molecular Virology, Immunology and Medical Genetics. Previously, she served as the associate vice president for health sciences research and vice dean for research in the College of Medicine. Whitacre has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, was awarded Ohio State's Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service, and was presented the university’s Distinguished Scholar Award. Whitacre received her doctorate and bachelor’s degree from Ohio State.
